CGB Elementary News
June 9, 2023
This was my 23rd year in education and besides COVID it certainly has been one of the more interesting years with our 29 days affected by weather. Despite the challenges, we learned to be flexible and how to persevere through changes. Students and staff missed out on opportunities but at the same time staff worked hard to add opportunities for students socially, emotionally, and academically.
I have had a great school year. I have gotten to know this year's 165 students even better than the last. As much as I personally miss teaching in the classroom at times, as a principal I have found many ways to enjoy students. Paws tickets and drawings, recess, lunch, stopping by classrooms, teaching a robotics class, and even building relationships through behaviors and consequences are all enjoyable ways to get to know students. We have a special place full of wonderful kids and I do not take this for granted. All of our CGB kids have talents, challenges, struggles, and areas of growth and our staff at CGB continues to grow and develop students academically and emotionally. Thank you parents for sending us great kids and being great partners in their education. See you this summer and next fall!
