Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
January 27th-31st
What's Going On This Week:
- Ms. Harris' Social Studies: This week in math we will discuss the causes and effects of the Spanish-American War. Students will complete a choice board of activities to show their understanding of the concept. They will also take their vocabulary quiz over the 10 unit vocabulary words on Friday, 31st.
- Ms. Harris' GT Math and ELA: In math this week students will complete a project demonstrating their understanding of adding and subtracting decimals. Their quiz on adding and subtracting decimals will be Wednesday. After that we will begin multiplying and dividing decimals. In ELA we will start reading our first Scholastic News Weekly. These are a great resource full of current event news articles. We will begin reviewing text features and structures. Students' published Snowmen Interviews are due Thursday this week. We have been working on these for 2 weeks and students should be bringing them home for an adult edit before publishing. Finally, we have started back with spelling this week. Students received their words today and their first activity is due Wednesday. Spelling tests will be given next Friday.
