Park Hill Hall of Fame
Each January, the Park Hill School District inducts one or more alumni into the Alumni Hall of Fame. This award honors those district graduates whose lives and careers are models of achievement and community service.
The nominee must be a graduate of Park Hill High School or Park Hill South High School who graduated five or more years ago. Posthumous nominations will be accepted. For the January 2019 induction, the committee will consider nominations received by Dec. 1.
Habit of the Month - Begin with the End in Mind
This month your child(ren) will be learning about Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind.
Please read about this habit and share this habit at home.
Begin with the End in Mind at Home:
I plan ahead and set goals. I look for ways to be a good citizen. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my family and I contribute to my family's mission and vision.
Activity Ideas
1) Make a family mission statement. This statement should answer questions like: What does our family want to be known for? How do we treat each other? What unique contributions can we make? What big goals do we want to achieve? What unique talents and skills do we have?
2) Make family dinner together. Include your child in all of the steps - beginning by reading the recipe and thinking about the delicious meal.
3) Do a puzzle together. Before you begin, look at the box to see a picture of the final product.
Redistricting Update
You can now see the scenarios posted on Park Hill Listens, the site where we have been collecting feedback since Nov. 9.
Our redistricting committee worked on dozens of ideas for new boundaries and narrowed them down based on how they fit the Board's criteria. The committee wants to see what you think of the final scenarios, and it will use your feedback to help select its final recommendation to the Board in December.
On Nov. 14 and Nov. 29, there will be open houses for the public to review the four scenarios, ask questions and give feedback. These will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Plaza Middle School.
Click here for a more detailed redistricting update.
Park Hill Stars
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Nominations are not being accepted at this time, but opportunities will re-open at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a Park Hill Star this year!
