Jaguar Corner

Hello Jaguars!

-We have GREAT THINGS happening in our classrooms! SVE is participating in the nationally recognized Project Lead The Way program.

-Kindergarten Jaguars have been working in teams as engineers and developing plans to build a house that the big bad wolf could not knock down! In the photos, you can see the materials the kids were given, and there were MANY days of design, instruction, and learning how to work within the TEAM. The super cool part of this process is watching the kids work together on their build project and making important changes to their design when problems arose.

SVE PTA Fall Party!

Hello SVE Families-

Exciting News! All Fall Parties will be held at Sylvia Bailey Park on October 31st!

We are asking K-5 parents and Mrs. Rader’s class to please pay $8.00 online through PTA's website. This will cover both fall and spring party costs.

6th grade parents, please pay $6.00 online for your child's fall party. The $6.00 will cover the park fee and pizza. The spring party location and cost will be determined closer to the date of the party.

I know your schedules are busy, but I wanted to make you aware of a great committee called 'Help in Any Way' Committee through PTA. This does not assign you to a specific committee, but moreso allows a teacher or PTA member to call you if they may need extra hands for an event or a few extra helpers to prep an activity by making signs, bringing in food, helping create a game for a party, etc. We are hoping that by working together and expanding our volunteer network, we will create an even better community of parents and teachers working together to make each school year AWESOME for our kids!!

When you go to the pta website:, click on Volunteer Committees.

Scroll to the bottom and you will find the description for 'Help in Any Way' Committee. Complete the sign-up form.

Here is the link for the form to sign up! Thank you!

If another committee looks more interesting to you, absolutely fill out the form and sign up. We would just love to have more parent support for the various events that SVE participates in throughout the school year (and there's a lot)! We appreciate your consideration in taking a few evenings this school year to help your child's SVE School Family!

Finally, please consider signing up for a PTA membership as this is the only way you will be able to have access to addresses and phone numbers of others students at SVE. If you join PTA, you will have access to the Student Directory. Please visit their link on our website! Teachers are unable to provide addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.

Thank you

The pick-a-time conference sign ups went "live" on Sunday, October 1!! Thank you for signing up for a conference time! Click here for directions.

It's time to order your 2017-2018 Yearbook! Yearbooks are $16 for the standard, and $19 if you have your child's name printed on the cover. It's very easy to order. Just go to the Inter-state website and enter the school code listed below. Type in your student's name and select their grade and class. Then choose if you want to add your student's name, and type in his/her name. To add multiple students, you will need to keep adding the school code. When you are done, go to check out and pay! 6th grade students receive free personlization from PTA and you will receive a letter with your instructions. Order deadline is January 12th. If you have any problems or questions, please e-mail Genevieve Boehm at Thank you! SVE code is: 21899X

Also remember to upload pictures of your students at school and school functions and you can guarantee your child will be in the yearbook! There are instructions on the PTA website on how to upload your pictures for the yearbook committee. We'd also love to have as many people helping with the yearbook as possible - please contact Genevieve Boehm or fill out the volunteer form on the website.
