Al Capone's Early Years
Al Capone was born January 17,1899 to Teresina and Gabriel Capone. He was born in Brooklyn, New York.
Al Capone attended school up until the 6th grade, when he slapped his teacher. His principal then beat him and Capone was expelled from school. He never returned. At this point in his life was when his crimes began.
Al Capones Crimes
The St. Valentines Day massacre, the most spectacular gangland slaying in mob history. This event was organized by Capone, although, he was in Miami at the time of the murders. Al Capone had arranged for Chicago mobster George "Bugs" Moran and most of his North Side Gang to be eliminated on February 14, 1929.
The federal government was finally able to pin Capone for the crime of tax evasion. He was sent to Alcatraz after serving some time in a state prison.
Prison for capone
In 1931, Al Capone was taken to jail for carrying a concealed weapon. He was then sentenced to 11 years in state prison due to tax evasion and fined 80,000. Al Capone had been maintaining his gang activity and manipulating guards into giving him special privileges. He was taken into the new federal prison at Alcatraz in 1942.
Capone's final days
Al Capone contracted a disease called syphillis from the many prostitutes. This disease caused him to get very sick. Al Capone died on January 25 1947 from suffering a stroke. He was buried in Mount Caramel Cemetery in Chicago.
