Students Earn 5’s on Advanced Placement Examinations
Twenty-three WGHS students had a total of twenty-seven perfect scores on their Advanced Placement examinations in May. Click here to read the list of students and the examinations. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Joanna Ray who received a perfect score of 100 on the Earth Science Regents examination taken in June.
Appointment of New Principal at West Genesee High School is Announced
Syracuse City School District has had the benefit of his service for the past seven years. His roles included that of a building administrator, instructional coach, and multi-classroom teacher leader. Prior to that time, he served for eight years as Special Education Teacher and New Teacher Mentor at the Louis Armstrong Middle School that operates in collaboration with Queens College for culturally diverse groups of students. He has a breadth of experience in social, emotional, behavioral approaches, restorative practices, and school intervention to support a strong organizational climate.
Appointment of New Administration at West Genesee Middle School is Announced
On June 24, 2021 the Board of Education appointed Michael McGrath as the Principal at West Genesee Middle School. He replaces Stephen Dunham who has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Westhill Schools. McGrath started in his new position on July 1, 2021.
At that same Board meeting, Beth Lozier was appointed to fill the position of Assistant Principal at West Genesee Middle School, previously held by McGrath. She will officially start in that new position on August 3, 2021.

Congratulations to Spring Scholar Athlete Teams!
Congratulations to the seven West Genesee spring teams that were recognized as NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Teams: Softball, Girls Outdoor Track, Girls Golf, Girls and Boys Lacrosse, Boys Tennis, and Baseball.
To receive a Scholar/Athlete Team award, 75% of the roster must have a GPA of 90 or above. Individuals who earn a GPA of 90 or above are still eligible to receive individual Scholar Athlete honors. West Genesee had 141 out of 231 eligible athletes awarded the Scholar Athlete Pin.

- West Genesee High School: 7:35 a.m.- 2:11 p.m.
- Camillus Middle School: 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- West Genesee Middle School: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Elementary Schools: 9:00 a.m. - 3:17 p.m.
Fall Sports Registration Information
Information to register for fall sports is now available. Here is what you need to know:
- High School Sports begin August 23, 2021 for all JV/V Sports
- High School Registration opened July 23, 2021 and closes August 20, 2021
- All 7/8/9 Modified Sports start August 30, 2021
- All 7/8/9 Modified Sports Registrations opens today July 30, 2021 and closes August 27, 2021
- All 7th & 8th grade students should register under CMS
- All 9th – 12th grade students should register under West Genesee High School

Food Pantry Information for Over the Summer
Many students enjoy breakfast and lunch at school on a regular basis. It is understandable when families find it challenging to provide those meals during school vacations.
Food pantries partner with the Food Bank of CNY to provide low cost, nutritious food to those in need. The following is a list of food pantries and services available in our community to assist families. Please know that you will be serviced by the food pantry nearest your legal address. If you have questions or need assistance please call: The Interreligious Food Consortium (IRC) weekdays at 315-474-8855 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Their website is: http://www.ifccny.org/.

District Discontinued Blackboard Mobile App on July 1, 2021
As of July 1, 2021 the District is no longer offering its Blackboard mobile app. The District has decided to discontinue the app since the District website is mobile responsive and has translation capabilities (which is not offered from the app) since last summer; we now use Tip411; and we shifted to SchoolMessenger to send communications. Thank you for using our app!

West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council is Again Sponsoring a School Supply Drive
For 12 years, West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council has been collecting and providing school supplies to students in need.
