PCH Community Update
2020-2021: The Week of May 31
Overview
This past Tuesday, Central High hosted our 62nd graduation ceremony! The picture above captures what is always one of my favorites moments of the year (special thanks to Ms. Christine Stricker, PCH journalism sponsor). Congratulations to the Class of 2021 and best of luck to each of our most recent graduates! To our underclassmen, good luck with final exams this week; finish strong!
This is the final PCH Community Update of the 2020-2021 school year. Later this week, I will share calendar and schedule information for the 2021-2022 school year with students and families that are returning. In addition, I will send periodic updates through the summer.
Finally, on behalf of the Central High faculty and staff, thank you for your ongoing patience, flexibility, and support through what has most certainly been an unprecedented and challenging year. I hope each of you has a safe, engaging, and restful summer break. Please take a moment to review the information below.

Reminders: COVID-19
As we continue to navigate the challenges of the pandemic while we approach the end of this school year, the health and safety of students and staff remains our priority. Below are a few COVID-19 related reminders:
- Parents, If your child develops COVID-like symptoms or becomes sick, you should contact a healthcare provider so that you or your child can be evaluated and get tested immediately. More information about the symptoms of COVID-19 are available on the CDC’s website here. Information about COVID-19 testing locations is available from the St. Louis County Department of Public Health and area healthcare providers. Because the virus can still be spread person-to-person, please keep children who are sick at home. Don’t send them to school.
- Parents, if your child tests postive for COVID-19 and / or is expriencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact Susan Hunt, Central High's school nurse, via email at shunt@parkwayschools.net or telephone at 314-415-7930.
- A close contact is anyone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more. The Health Department also quarantines individuals who have been in the same room with an infected person for a prolonged period of time within the 48 hours before symptoms start.
- The district is sharing the number of students and staff who are quarantined or in isolation in Parkway Schools on our Community Health Dashboard.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and commitment!
