2016-2017 KIndergarten Registration and Round Up

Kindergarten Registration for the 2016-2017 school year, will run through the end of May. Please complete the online registration through Skyward, and then the registration process can be completed at the school Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm.

STAAR Testing

The following are the next scheduled STAAR tests:

Monday, May 9, Third Grade and Fourth Grade STAAR Math
Tuesday, May 10, Third Grade and Fourth Grade STAAR Reading
Wednesday, May 11, Fifth Grade STAAR Science

Please remember that no visitors or volunteers are allowed in the school on these days!

CES Fun Day!

CES Fun Day will be here before you know it. Please mark your calendars for this exciting event. It will be on Thursday, May 26 at CES and CMS!

From Nutrition Services- No Charging Policy

No charging will be allowed starting May 9th. Students must have a positive balance in order to purchase items in the school cafeteria. Any student without a positive balance will receive an alternative meal at lunch. Please visit myschoolbucks.com to monitor account balances and set up low-balance email alerts. We appreciate your prompt attention in maintaining a positive meal balance. Additional information may also be found on the districts website www.gcisd-k12.org and Child Nutrition Facebook page.

Special Needs Request

During the month of May, parents can fill out a special needs request form if you have any academic concerns that you want us to consider for next years placement of your child. These can be picked up in the office starting on May 2nd, and have to be returned by May 26th. Please remember that we cannot take teacher or friend requests, only academic needs to consider. Thanks!

Campus Excellence Committee (CEC)

If you are interested in being a part of our Campus Excellence Committee (CEC), please let me know. We will have a drawing at the end of the year from those that enter their names for next year's committee. Thank you for your support of our school!

Math Telescoping Exams

Testing opportunities for telescoping in math for the 2016-2017 school year are available in the spring and summer for GCISD students who are completing grades K through 7.


The Math Telescoping Information Packet became available the first week in March on the district website under the For Parents and Students Directory by selecting the link for Acceleration Exams, Math Telescoping, Grades K-7. From the Assessment Department page select either the ENGLISH or SPANISH version for Math Telescoping, Grades K-7.


Parents will find information about the requirements to qualify for Math Telescoping and instructions about the new TWO STEP Online Registration Process. There will be links to print the Information Packet, begin the TWO STEP Online Registration Process to register for the spring exams, view the TEKS on the TEA website, and download Study Guides for the exams purchased from UT-Austin.


The exam dates and registration deadlines for each exam date are listed below:


Spring Exam Date: Saturday, May 7, 2016 9:00 AM Colleyville Elementary

Registration is closed for these exams.


Summer Exam Date: Thursday, July 28, 2016 9:00 AM Colleyville Elementary

Online Registration Deadline – Summer Exam Date: June 20, 2016 - CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT

Online registration for the Summer Exam Date will open the week of May 9th. The online registration form will become unavailable at 12:01 AM, June 21, 2016.

Exam Fee Payment Deadline – Summer Exam Date: June 22, 2016 - BY NOON
