Welcome Back Teachers
I am very excited to work with you this year!
Welcome Back!
The new school year is upon us and I thought I would take this opportunity to share a few new things we have going on in the library and remind you of ways that I can help you.
- I made a new Google Classroom Page for all of the students. I have invited the 7th and 8th graders to join and will invite 6th graders to join during orientation. Please remind the students to join the Classroom Page because that is where I will be putting all important information about the library and library events.
- You can now sign up to use the library online! Having piloted Library Trac at the end of the year and tested it out with some of the staff and getting positive feedback I have decided to use the software this year. Below are instructions on how to sign up for library time. Students will also be using the software to sign in & out when they come to the library.
- We have a few new additions to the library makerspace this year which you can use with students. We have an Arduino, a Raspberry Pi (I am now a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator) a Breakout Edu Box, Bloxels, lots more Legos and more arts and craft supplies. Please feel free to talk with me about ways we can incorporate the makerspace and its items into your curriculum.
- We are also looking for donations for our makerspace so please feel free to bring in anything you may have around the house and share this with your students and parents. https://www.smore.com/cfe03
Signing up for the Library Online
Use the following link https://www.librarytrac.com/view/calendar/355/ to sign up to use the library. You will be asked to input a password. The password is 'read'.
Just follow the rest of the steps to complete the process. If you have any questions feel free to call or email me.
Ways I can help you!
Please remember I am here to help you! I am here to help you not only find books for your students but I can help you with incorporating technology into your classroom. I can even teach the technology to your students for you. If you're looking for a website or app or want to Skype with a class I am here to help! The graphic below also lists ways that I can be of service to you!
Remember, the Library Has Tons of Resources for Your Classes
Not only do we have great books to supplement your curriculum but we also have amazing online resources! We have tons of databases to meet your students' needs and I am more than willing to come and teach your students how to use them.
Check out all the resources on our library webpage!
