Parent Teacher Conferences!

I look forward to meeting with you for our parent teacher conference next week! Please let me know if you are unable to attend. On Wednesday, I sent home a conference confirmation form that included an area for you to list any additional topics you would like to discuss. Please send this back by Monday if you haven't already so that I can prepare for our conference. Thank you!

Lost and Found

If your child is missing an item (coat, lunchbox, etc.), please remind him/her to check the lost and found table located in the cafeteria. Many lost items are piling up just waiting to be found! You may wish to label any items sent to school with your child’s name in order to make locating lost items easier.

Pumpkin Math!

We are in need of at least 3 more volunteers to help us with Pumpkin Math on Friday, October 31st at 10:30! We also need 3 more pumpkins! We will be using pumpkins to do many different fun, math activities. Please let me know if you are interested in donating a pumpkin or volunteering!

Thank you to those families who have already signed up to donate or volunteer!

There will be no homework and a newsletter will not be sent out. Students will be given their next set of Words Their Way spelling words and Vocabulary words on Monday, October 27th. We will also resume our normal homework routine for Week 1. Please have a happy and safe Fall Break!

We are Learning...

Reading: We will be focusing on the characters in realistic fiction stories. We will be studying their point of view and how they respond to challenges. We will also be comparing characters within a story and making personal connections with them.

Math: We will continue our topic of equal groups and repeated addition. Students will use arrays to add. Arrays are a set of objects organized into equal groups.

Writing: We are working on editing and publishing a personal narrative that we would like to share with others!

Science: We will begin a new unit in Science this week! We will be studying the sun and the moon and how they appear to move in the sky throughout the day.
