Orchard Hills Updates

Principal's Message
Dear Students and Families,
Happy beautiful Friday to us all! After a rainy week that included several indoor recess time for our students, we are excited to feel the warmth of the sun outside today. This week most of our learners completed taking their first Benchmark assessment, the Fall i-Ready. This Benchmark assessment is administered three times a year and helps our teachers understand the unique needs of each learner in their classrooms. In addition, it also helps our ancillary teachers such as our Reading Specialists and our English Language Development teacher know which students might benefit from additional support during our academic support time (WIN time). Next week, during our Curriculum Night, families will be able to learn more about instruction and the academic and social-emotional learning goals for the year.
We can’t wait to see you then!

NCSD strongly recommends that parents monitor the health of their child/children on a daily basis. If students or staff exhibit any symptoms of illness they should stay home.
If symptoms occur -- of any illness -- you must stay home until 24 hours symptom-free without the use of any medication.
If symptoms persist, please go to the doctor or consider getting tested for COVID-19 and do not return to school until a negative test or symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of any medication.
If your child has any medical needs, asthma, allergy, etc. please complete the appropriate management/medication form under this link Health and Medication Management Plans. If your child will require medication throughout the day, there are forms at that link that will need to be completed by your physician.
