Early Bird Registration
It is that time of year! Although we are still in the middle of the school year we are already preparing for next fall. Early Bird Registration will run from March 2nd through March 16th. Register your child for the fall and save your child's spot and get a $60 tuition credit for the Fall!
Be sure to return your registration form and fee prior to the 16th!
All current students will be guaranteed a spot by registering during the Early Bird period. On March 17th registration will open to the public for any available spots remaining.
Reminders
Parking Lot - The safety of our children is our top priority. With that being said PLEASE turn off your cars when you enter the building and maintain a proper speed limit in the parking lot on, you never know when a child may dart out from between cars.
Cell Phones - Please refrain from talking on your cell phones at pick up and drop off time. It is important that in the event we need to speak with you that you are available.
Allergies - If your child has an allergy, we need to know and to have a current modification plan in place. These plans are updated every 6 months. If your child has a modification regarding food and they can not eat our food due to an allergy, you are required to send in a replacement item. If there are any questions please see Miss Karen.
Closing Time - We close at 6:00p.m. Please be sure that you arrive with enough time to pick up your child prior to 6.
Breakfast - We serve breakfast from home until 8:00a.m. If you arrive at or after 8:00 a.m. please do not serve your child breakfast. They can be given their food at morning snack which is at 9:15.
Hot Drinks - Drinks that are hot or were originally hot, such as hot chocolate, coffee or tea are NOT permitted in the classrooms at any time. We have no way to check the temperatures of what is in the cup.
Camp
Spring is almost here and that means summer is not far behind! It is time for all school age children to register for summer camp. If your child will be entering Kindergarten in the fall they are now an official camper and will be in Jr. Camp this summer. Be sure to get a camp registration form from the front desk and secure your child's place for a fun filled summer.
What do we do in Camp?
All campers will be swimming 2x's per week at our Chesterbrook Academy School in Limerick.
All Campers will go on a field trip once a week, usually on Wednesdays. Camp calendars are available and one is posted on the front desk. Please let us know if you need one.
The campers also enjoy various in-house events and activities.
If you have any questions about camp please see Miss Karen or Miss Meagan.

Communication
As we have started quite a few new families and changed some of our communication practices I wanted to reiterate the various methods of communication that we use to keep our families informed. The various methods we use are:
Links 2 Home(Tadpoles) - This is our primary means of communication. This is where you will get your child's daily report, daily photo and various items related to what they do each day. This is also one way the we send notices to parents, such as school closing etc.
Folders - Each child has a folder in their classroom, in most cases they are behind or near the door. This is where we put hard copies of documents such as incident reports, letters from the office, Monthly Parent Folders, Quarterly Parent Reports, party invitations etc. The folders should be checked DAILY.
E-mail - We will send a variety of messages out via e-mail on a regular basis. If you are not getting e-mails from me please let me know so that I can get your correct e-mail on my distribution list.
Face to Face - If we have a quick questions or just want to touch base with you, nothing beats face to face communication to stay connected. If you have something that you want to discuss, private conferences can be scheduled.
Lobby Calendar - The large bulletin board in the lobby serves as a large calendar for parents on the run. It gives you a chance to take a quick look as you walk by to help keep you up to date on current happenings.
Phone - We are always open to a phone call if you want to reach out and ask a question, we also use a quick call if we have a quick question or more urgent matter on our end.
Website - Our website has a calendar, menu and newsletter up to date at all times. Please check it out: www.Collegeville.ChesterbrookAcademy.com
We try to keep as much communication going as possible. It is both the parents and the schools responsibility to communicate with each other. Communication is the key to quality.
Drop Off
In the interest of safety I wanted to reiterate the drop off procedure.
All children must be signed in and out at the iPad in the lobby. Children must be taken to their classroom to drop off their belongings in their cubbie. Then the child will be dropped off with their teacher, they may be in the room, in a drop off room or on the playground. Either way it is imperative that children are dropped off to the teacher and not left in classrooms alone. If there are any questions regarding the drop off procedure please let me know.
Playground
This time of year we are getting outside more and more often. The weather can vary widely so it is a good idea to dress in layers or keep an extra sweatshirt here at school. Very often the mornings can be quite cold while the afternoons are very pleasant.
Also, We are aware of the mud situation on the big playground. I apologize for the unfortunate state of the grass. We are currently working on a solution to this problem. We are trying to keep the kids off the muddiest areas as much as possible. If you feel that you would like to sent in old sneakers to wear on the playground we would be happy to have the kids change their shoes in an effort to control the mud.
