NEWLY INDUCTED NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS
Congratulations to our newly inducted NJHS members. They were inducted on Tuesday, April 12th. They received their certificates and pins at the induction ceremony which was well attended by family members. Some of them were pinned by family members who were former SMM NJHS members. They were congratulated by the current members. These students were chosen not only for their high academic achievement, but also for their service, character, leadership and citizenship. We are very proud of these following students:
Bottom Row L to R: Matthew Donovan, Hank Ripoll, Savannah Miller, Carson Buckley, Mary Wootan, Kyan Nguyen, Mollie Dean, Ali Manion, Nathan Howell, Monet Champagne.
Top Row L to R: Mrs. Walker (moderator), Addison Encalarde, Tommy Schneidau, Miller Wadleigh, Frankie Thompson, Lil Enright, Kallie DeHarde, Braylee Ladner, Carley Fischer, Addison Melerine, Ava Pender, Maddie Nguyen.
SNACK SHACK CLOSED FOR THE YEAR
SMM 7th Graders, Avery Showalter (left) and Gabriela Silessi, young entrepreneurs and business women, have closed the beloved Snack Shack for the year. Avery and Gabriela wanted to do something to raise money for a special charity near and dear to their hearts - "WildAid." They approached administration with the idea of a "Snack Shack" and presented a power point to make their case. Avery and Gabriela sold breakfast snack items and drinks before school on Wednesdays in the Middle School Courtyard. They were very faithful to their project and raised $1200.00 for WilAid. We are proud of you and are looking forward to all the great things you accomplish in years to come. We know that you will be successful in all that you endeavor.
CAR LINE SAFETY AGAIN
It seems that we need another reminder about safety in the car line. Our number one goal for the car line is keeping our students safe. We ask you to help us with this by observing these simple requests:
1) Please do not use your phones to talk, text or read in the car line. You should never use your phones while driving and especially in school zones, so please put them down when entering our campus.
2) Please do not bring your pets with you in the car line. Pets can get spooked by anything and possibly hurt a teacher who is helping your child into or out of the car. They are also a big distraction to drivers.
Please remember that school begins at 8:00 am. Coach Gay must leave the morning car line at 8:00 am sharp. Mr. Collins and Mrs. Sanchez will leave the car line shortly after 8:00 am. Please make an extra effort to be on time. If you are late, you will need to escort your children into the office to get a tardy slip.
CAR LINE ID TAGS: Please make sure that you have an ID tag for each person picking up your children. Sometimes we do not recognize you or the person who is picking up your child. If you or they do not have a car line ID Tag, they may be asked to go to the office and show proof of identification to Susan Miller. Susan will check to see if the person is allowed to check out your child. If the person is not on your list, Susan will call you.
In addition, all people picking up your children, including you, must have a car line ID tag all the time. Coach Gay and Mr. Collins know most people, but if you change cars or send someone new, or if it is raining really hard and they cannot see into the car, they will have to slow down the car line to verify who it is. If you have lost your car line ID tags, please notify Susan in the office (985-643-4612 or smiller@saintmm.org) and she will print new ones. Please do not make one of your own.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
