Support For Madison & Olivia
Message from the principal...
As you are well aware, this has been a heavy week for our community. We have collectively mourned the loss of wonderful parents in our community, but through the entire experience our Clifford family has responded with so much warmth and generosity, that is truly beyond measure. Our hearts break with the Ammen family and if you have not contributed already, you can directly help the family through their Go Fund Me. We would like to thank every member of our community who has stepped in to help in any kind of way to support the family. Clifford families and staff have contributed money, signed up to bring meals, been available for emotional support, and the list goes on. I would also like to thank Dr. Baker and the Redwood City School District staff for the support and resources provided to staff and the Clifford community. You are all amazing and we are again reminded of the importance of belonging and connection in a community. Thank you for being an integral part of our Clifford community.
As we approach our upcoming Thanksgiving break, remember that Monday and Tuesday (11/21 and 11/22) are days set aside for caregiver/teacher conferences. Fall conferences are designed for all caregivers to have the opportunity to meet with the teacher and discuss progress, celebrate accomplishments and discuss any concerns. Please make sure you look out for communication from your teacher about scheduling a conference with them to make this important connection between home and school.
Remember, tomorrow there is no school tomorrow, Friday 11/11, in observance of Veteran's Day. We hope that you and your families enjoy this three day weekend.
GOOD LUCK TONIGHT CLIFFORD GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM!!
In community,
Jude & Tiffany

RUBY BRIDGES WALK TO SCHOOL DAY 11/14- WEAR PURPLE!
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day- November 14th
This initiative started with a question from a group of AAA School Safety Patrollers from Martin Elementary in South San Francisco. Nearly 60 years later, as they were hearing Ruby’s story for the first time, and learning about her courage and bravery, they thought there should be a day to commemorate the movement she started. These students took their idea to the State Legislature and today the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day will be recognized by the state of California on November 14 each year. Like Ruby, they lead the way and set an example for all of us to follow.
Today, Schools like Martin Elementary and Ruby Bridges Elementary in Alameda, California and Ruby Bridges Elementary in Woodinville, Washington continue to honor Ruby’s legacy in their own way. The latest initiative being The Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. An annual day of dialogue to commemorate her historic steps. These students will continue the conversation and take part in their own forms of activism to bring an end to racism and all forms of bullying.
