Good Afternoon Loveland High School Families,
The class of 2023 has made it! Today we celebrated the seniors as they have completed their last day of high school. Congratulations!
This weekend is filled with lots of activities! We have several athletic teams competing in big games and in the state tournament. Good luck!
On Saturday it is prom! Students are so excited and we are too! If your student is going to the dance please be sure they have their ticket and photo ID. As a reminder, if your student does not arrive at the dance by 9pm you will be receiving a call from administration. Students are required to stay at the dance until the crowning ceremony.
Have a great weekend!

Latin Honors System Announcement
Loveland High School is excited to announce the implementation of a Latin Honors system beginning with the Class of 2023! The Latin Honors system recognizes individual academic excellence based on cumulative weighted grade point average at the conclusion of the 7th semester. The following criteria will be used:
Cum Laude 3.5 - 3.749
Magna Cum Laude 3.75 - 3.999
Summa Cum Laude 4.0 and higher
Seniors will be recognized at the graduation ceremony by wearing an honors cord to signify their achievement.
For the Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026, the implementation of the Latin Honors system allows us to recognize more students for their individual academic accomplishments rather than for their rank in the class. We will continue to recognize the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of these classes but will no longer recognize the “Top 10”.
Beginning with the Class of 2027, we continue our shift to focus on individual achievement using the Latin Honors system. We will celebrate students’ personal accomplishments without regard to their rank in the class. In doing so, we will no longer recognize a Valedictorian or a Salutatorian for the Classes of 2027 and beyond.
We believe the Latin Honors system will allow for the recognition of individual academic excellence as students strive to achieve their personal goals throughout their years at Loveland High School. In addition to the Latin Honors, we will continue to recognize students for National Honor Society, Honors Diploma, Military, Thespian, Teaching Professions Academy, Hope Squad, and Green Team. We look forward to celebrating more students than ever before!

Is your student considering taking the ACT this summer? Here are some considerations:
- 10th graders who have completed Algebra II who test this summer may have a less busy junior year
- 11th graders may want to try for a score increase before focusing on applications and essays
If you haven't already, please be sure to watch our ACT-SAT 101 webinar from last November: https://sites.google.com/lovelandschools.org/collegeandcareerreadiness/home
Contact your child's counselor with questions. We are happy to help!
