Halloween
Our annual festivities will begin with a parade on Thursday, October 31st starting at 2:30 p.m. Please see Halloween Letter 2019 - RHE for more information. Parents may cheer on our costumed students on the side playground. For school security and safety reasons, parents who are coming for the parade are not permitted inside the school. Only those parents who are RHHSA Homeroom Liaisons will be permitted to help with the party. We love when parents come to the parade in costume; however, we ask that parents not wear masks that disguise their identity. Please remember that costumes incorporating weapons and/or depicting violence are not appropriate to bring to school. Our school strives for a climate of non-violence. Your support is greatly appreciated!
CR Education Week
CR parents/guardians are invited to visit CR classrooms on the following dates and times of day:
Monday, November 11 – 9:30-11:30
Tuesday, November 12 – 1:00-3:00
Wednesday, November 13 – 9:30-11:30
Thursday, November 12 – 1:00-3:00
Transportation Information
On Thursday, Dr. Fraser provided information to families regarding a possible change in students' bus pick-up and drop-off times, and the changes would be reflected in the Home Access Center (HAC). In his message, he stated:
This process of updating HAC will be measured in weeks, not days, due to the nature of the process and the fact that we have 619 individual bus runs. Once an individual bus’s times have been updated, parents from that bus will receive an email alerting them to check HAC for that information. Along these lines, I ask that elementary parents please note that a bus is considered late in the afternoon if it arrives after 4:00 PM, as has been the case in the past. At this point, any bus that is arriving after 4:00 PM is due to driver shortage on that day, and not due to additional routing corrections that need to be made.
RHHSA Membership Toolkit
This is a final call for parents and staff who have not yet created/updated their accounts in Membership Tool Kit. Our directory will be going to print next week and we want to make certain that we have up to date information for all of our RHE families and Staff. This is a different database than HAC and is specific to the RHE community. You can link to MTK here. Thank you for your assistance!
Trunk or Treat
Date: Friday, October 25th (raindate: Friday, November 1st)
Time: 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Come join other Rolling Hills families for a night of games, fun and prizes. Children can safely trick or treat in a sectioned off area of host trunks. Please remember this is the not a "drop off" activity. Students are required to have an adult host. We will be asking for donations from students whose families are not participating as a trunk but plan on trick or treating at the event. This is not required, but greatly appreciated. All treaters and trunks should pre-register here! Please register by October 20, 2019. Any questions, please contact Jen or Paul Ruffenach at pmjdr02@me.com
We are in need of volunteers to make this event successful. Please log into your Membership Tool Kit account and select the Volunteer tab. The sign up for Trunk or Treat can be found under Special Events. Thank you!

Home Access Center Demographic Information Update
As a reminder, at the start of every school year, the Council Rock School District requires parents/guardians to verify their demographic information through Home Access Center (HAC).
Only one parent/guardian should complete a demographic form for each child.
District/School Notifications, Emergency Contacts, Medication Authorization information etc. are directly dependent upon your completion of this form.
Chess Club
The fall session of the RHE Chess Club will begin on October 8th. Please see the link below for sign up information.
Cell Phones
Student cell phones are to be used for emergency purposes only. Cell phones are not to be used in school or on school busses. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in the students' backpacks. Please be advised that the school is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen items.
In today's world, there are many reasons that students carry cellular telephones, but we have to collectively remind students about their appropriate use. Please see the Student-Parent Handbook for more information.
Fire Safety Contest
The Fire Safety in the Home contest is open for any interested K-6 grade student. The deadline for the contest is Wednesday, October 16th. Last year, RHE had several prize winners and it would be great if that happened again.
