Reading
After reading Peanut Butter and Cupcake, we made a graphic organizer showing what happened in the Beginning, Middle, and End of the book. We are starting to practice retelling of a story.
Readers Notebook
A peek inside of Beginning, Middle, End. We are sketching our ideas and then we will be building words and sentences.
Shopping for books
We got our shopping bags and shopped for 10 books that were just right for us at this time of the year. We will be practicing reading strategies and building our phonics skills using these books
Literacy stations
Practicing what to do when the teachers are meeting with guided reading groups. We need to be able to work together quietly and problem solve.
Literacy stations
One favorite station is tangrams.
Word Wall
We did invisible writing with a white crayon and our markers. If you write a word with white crayon on white paper, it magically appears when you color over it with a marker.
Class building
Find someone who...likes camping, rides a bike, likes to read. etc... It was fun to walk around the room and fill out the sheet with our clipboards.
Table names
Each time we change seats, about every 4 weeks, we make a table decoration. We discuss the things that we like and that we have in common, then we draw them on the puzzle shape.
Table Names
Each table design is unique just like them!
Top Dog: Arya
Arya's favorite animal is a unicorn. She loves to eat cookies. She is pawsome at dancing and listening carefully. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher.
Doggy Bag
1. Please empty out the Friday folder each week.
2. Curriculum Night is next Wednesday, August 28th.
