Serene Hills Elementary School --- April 12, 2019
SHE Track and Field Day 2019
SHE Parents,
We are gearing up for Track and Field Day 2019 at Serene Hills and I wanted to take a moment to go over some of the basics. Each grade level will have 2.5 hours of fun with us! 1 hour for a station rotation, 30 minutes for a snack, water, and restroom break, and 1 hour for relays.
Students need to wear their class T-shirt, athletic bottoms, and tennis shoes on their designated Track and Field Day.
Students should put on sunscreen before school. (Bring it if you want them to reapply.)
Sunglasses and hats are allowed.
PTO contacted homeroom parents so that each class will have a cooler, water bottles, and snacks provided.
If you didn’t sign up to volunteer we still have a few slots open. Otherwise, RSVP here to come and you can cheer on your children.
Reminder: The mile run race off will be on May 6th during specials times... not before Track and Field.
Thanks,
Your PE Coaches

Mark your calendars! Kathleen Hassenfratz returns to SHE April 24
What new social media app will emerge next month that will mesmerize your child? What homework will your child bring home that must be completed with an electronic device? How do we take the knowledge we have of the developing brain and find a 'happy medium' within the digital world in which our kids now live?
Kathleen Hassenfratz is coming back to support us so we can support our students. Join us for this 2 hour workshop from the KH Counseling and Inspiration's Parenting Toolkit Seminars: Navigating the Digital Landscape With your Pre-teen/Teen. As a continuation from last semester's workshop, "How to Stay Ahead of the Digital Learning Curve; Raising Kids in Today's Digital Landscape", we'll do a short review of where our last session ended, and then dive more deeply into how our relationships within our family system and the larger community system around you, must find a balance of digital expectations to have happy, productive, less anxious young people (and families!)
This will also be a general PTO meeting. Learn about how the PTO support your children at our school. See how you can also get involved.
