Gladiator Greatness

Clarke Central graduation (pictured right) was held at Stegeman Coliseum on May 18th. You can see pictures of this momentous occasion on Online Athens. 353 students comprised the Clarke Central High School Class of 2019!

Sophomore Zaili Gantt and juniors Zamir Freeman and LaShanti Williams are currently competing in the AAU Junior Olympics games in Greensboro, North Carolina. As of publication, Zaili finished 24th in the Nation in the 15/16 girls Triple Jump, and Lashanti won first place in the long jump in the 17-18 women's division. Read more on the AAU/USA website.

Class of 2019 Valedictorian Andrew Caldwell was named a Stamps Scholar and will attend Georgia Tech this fall. Read more in the Athens Banner-Herald.

CCHS Bass Fishing Team members Luke Garofalo and Cooper Evans won the Georgia High School Fishing Classic on Lake Chickamauga in June. Check out the team's Facebook page here.

The CCHS administrative team welcomes Ms. Latinda Dean and Summer Smith as its newest members. Both will serve as the school's assistant principals.

Seniors Alexander Robinson (social studies), Katie Grace Upchurch (science), Casey Pendley (dance), and Maggie DeMaria (dance) participated in the Georgia Governor's Honors Program held at Berry College this summer. Learn more about this prestigious program on their website.

AP Success! 90.6% of last year's AP Biology students passed the College Board AP exam with a 3 or higher vs 64.7% globally. 25% made a 5 on the exam vs 7% globally. Congratulations to Dr. Gatlin and his students!

More AP Success! 100% of Mr. Sherer's AP Spanish students pass the exam with a 3 or higher! Way to go!
