Administration
The administration team wants to encourage all students to finish the semester strong and participate in the multitude of events we have schedule in the upcoming weeks.
No early dismissals over the phone or through email (this includes emails to the RHdocumentation@rhmail.org email address).
Students must be present for 60 minutes to get credit for that block.
No food or drink deliveries allowed - including home lunches by parents.
Safety and Security
As an on-going effort to ensure our school is safe, and in accordance with the Rock Hill School District policy and South Carolina state law, our administrative team will be conducting random safety screenings to help ensure the safety of all students and faculty. Your student’s classroom may be randomly chosen for a safety screening. A search of your student’s belongings with a metal detector by a gender-appropriate school administrator or designee may be conducted. The school’s resource offer will be on-hand to observe the screening and to ensure safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. King at 803-981-1300.

Chorus
The past couple of months have been a busy season for Chorus students! In January, 9 students participated in the South Carolina American Choral Directors Association Honor Choir in Florence, SC. These students concluded a weekend with a performance with other students from across the state! In February, 3 students, pre-selected through an audition process, participated in the Southern Region American Choral Directors Association Honors Choir in Louisville, Kentucky. These students sang with top scoring singers from across 11 southern states and had a wonderful time learning and meeting new friends! At the beginning of March, 3 students, also pre-selected through a rigorous audition process, participated in South Carolina All-State Chorus on Winthrop University’s campus. We have had a wonderful time learning from various clinicians and bringing those learned skills back to the classroom to fellow RHHS singers. In a couple of weeks, we will be completing our Concert Performance Assessment in both stage performance and sight-singing abilities.
BAND
The RH Symphonic Band participated in SCBDA (South Carolina Band Director's Association) Concert Performance Assessment on 3/27/24 at Nation Ford High School. They received a rating of Superior with Distinction which is achieved by scoring the highest rating in every adjudicated category.
We have also had a really successful ending to both our Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion seasons.
The RH Winter Guard finished in 3rd place at CWEA (Carolina Winter Ensemble Association) Championships on 4/6/24.
The RH Percussion was named overall CHAMPION by finishing in 1st place in CWEA Championships on 4/13/24.
VISUAL ARTS
Teacher's Choice RHSD3 Art Show Opening Reception on March 7th from 5-7pm at the Arts Council of York County, 121 E Main Street. Works from 33 RHHS students will be among the hundreds of student artworks in this exhibit to celebrate Youth Art Month.

What is Model UN? The Model United Nations experience allows students to participate as a real delegate in a conference situation where mock debates are held on current global issues. MUN is a great educational experience as well as a lot of fun. A good delegate combines academic talent with the ability to take the facts they have learned and creatively apply them in the actual Model UN proceedings. The best Model UN teams are made up of students who are bright, outgoing, enthusiastic and interested in global issues.
How do you join? Speak with our sponsors, Mr. Young or Ms. Caffey. We meet every Wednesday afterschool in A204 (Ms. Caffey's Room). Membership dues are only $30 for new members and $20 for returning members. Hope to see you there!
