FAFSA

  • AB 469 now makes FAFSA OR CADAA completion in CA mandatory.
  • You may opt-out if you choose not to complete the FAFSA/CADAA.
  • To complete the FAFSA OR CA Dream Act Application, select the 2023-2024 school year.
    • Select the FAFSA if you have a Social Security Number.
    • Select the CA Dream Act Application if you do not have a Social Security Number.
  • Students planning to attend a community college must complete the FAFSA or CADAA to qualify for the CA Promise Program (2 years FREE Tuition).
  • Students planning to attend a 4-year college/university must complete the FAFSA or CADAA to qualify for ANY form of financial aid and scholarships.

Cal Grant

Cal Grant awards seniors financial aid based on their GPA and household income.

To facilitate the financial aid process, GHC will automatically upload the Cal Grant GPA for all seniors to the California Student Aid Commission no later than October 1, 2022.

Youth Animation Festival

Museum of the San Fernando Valley

They will be taking submissions for short animated films no longer than 5 minutes in length. You must be between the ages of 10 to 16 to be eligible for this event. All parties involved in the making of each film must fill out a registration form with a parent or legal guardian.

Engineering Summer Program - University of Wisconsin-Madison

Virtual Engineering Summer Program: The Virtual Engineering Summer Program (ESP) is a free, one-week online program for students who will be high school freshmen or sophomores in the upcoming school year. Virtual ESP programming will explore the various engineering majors within the College of Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Residential Engineering Summer Program: The Engineering Summer Program (ESP) is a free, three-week residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors who are interested in engineering. Participants will experience living on UW-Madison’s campus while getting a sense of what it means to be a Badger Engineer.

Girls Who Code Summer Program

Girls Who Code offers two FREE programs in the summer: the virtual Summer Immersion Program and the Self-Paced Program. Applicants can apply for BOTH programs, if eligible, using this application. However, students can only participate in one summer program. The virtual Summer Immersion Program (SIP) is a live, virtual, 2-week introductory computer science course for currently eligible

9th, 10th, and 11th grade US students and international students ages 14-18.

Intensive Immersion Program

The cornerstone of The Hidden Genius Project is our award-winning Intensive Immersion Program. This FREE, 15- month, cohort-based training program provides Black males in high school with upwards of 800 hours of holistic, trauma/healing-informed, high-touch mentorship and intensive training that seeks to develop youth into strong and responsible leaders equipped with coding and entrepreneurial

skills, who can identify and develop tech-enabled solutions to address society’s

most compelling challenges.

Youth F.I.R.E Program (Fire Instruction Recruitment & Education)

The Youth F.I.R.E. Program (YFP) is offered to youth, ages 14-18 years old and is conducted in the Spring and Fall at three different locations. They are each eight Saturdays in duration and have four levels of advancement. YFP provides the students with the technical competencies in the fire service, while developing their communication, physical fitness, leadership, and life skills through LAFD mentors as positive role models.

Exposing Students to Regenerative Medicine (ExStRM)

The Exposing Students to Regenerative Medicine (ExStRM) Program engages qualified high school students in meaningful, world-class regenerative medicine research. The selected students will be from high schools in South Los Angeles, historically known as underrepresented communities with major health disparities. The program's overarching goal will be to improve regenerative medicine treatments for individuals with unmet medical needs.

Lifeguard Ready Training Program (LRT)

LRT is a free training program through the Department of Parks and Recreation, aimed at providing an inclusive education and training program to youth ages 16-24 focused on the fundamental skills necessary to become LA County Swimming Pool Lifeguard. The training is intended to build water competency for candidates to develop the ability to meet the swim test time standards.

Youth Programs at the Getty Museum

Youth programs at the Getty Museum strive to celebrate the perspectives, voices, ideas, and experiences of young people, and to inspire them to actively contribute as creative thinkers. Through a spectrum of project-based, visual arts programming we work in community and in collaboration with one another. Our mission is to create spaces and programs for youth representation by committing to work and learn with BIPOC audiences who are underrepresented by and within arts institutions.
