Family Update - Full In-person April 5, 2021
As we prepare for our full in-person return on April 5th, we felt we wanted to send along some suggestions and information to help make this a successful transition along with other information. Be sure to review the dates above as we do have changes coming up for next week.
What can you do at home?
- Help kids adjust to getting to bed on time and up in time to get to school.
- Talk to them about coming back full in person. Some are excited, some are nervous.
- Make sure students are in on time and daily - attendance matters!
- APS Loaner Chromebooks/Tablets - send them in via backpacks on April 5th with chargers
What adjustments are we making?
- Our team did its best from the start to consider a return to full in person and did our best to make things align the best we could from the start for this eventuality. This is proving to be very helpful at this time.
- Moving furniture - student desks will be between 3-6ft. depending on the number of students within the class.
- Excess tables and furniture is being moved out to provide as much space as possible.
- Lunches - the lunchroom will be back in use; however, its usage will be dependent on the size of the grade level. Your classroom teachers will provide more specific information for each class should you have any questions.
- Playground will be back in use. Students will be sanitizing/hand washing on the way out and back into the building. Only one class will be on the playground at a time.
- All classes and instruction will be in person as of April 5th.
- AVA stays as is for the remainder of the year.
- Arrival and dismissal routines
- Start and end of day times - Arrival begins at 8:30 AM, Dismissal at 3:20 PM
- Attendance - We need everyone in on time and in daily. Being on time helps our students start the day off right and being in is definitely needed.
- Use of masks and following guidelines - please do not become lax with adhering to safety guidelines outside of school. We need everyone to make this as successful as possible.
PTO Meeting - We apologize for the short notice, but please join us on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:30 to touch base and answer any question you may have:

Pooled Testing:
Click here for more Pooled Surveillance Testing information. Here you will find more information about why this is so important to our moving forward in the healthiest way we can and how it can help with ensuring accurate quarantines especially as we move to full in person. Pooled testing allows those participating with our process to access rapid testing the next day they are in school. We currently have just shy of half our student population participating. Our students are doing an amazing job and report the weekly routine to be a quick and easy process.
If you need help with the consent process, please reach out! We are happy to assist!
We continue to work this week on our preparations. We can see our staff and students becoming very excited to see everyone back in the building daily!
Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Pooled Testing Consent Directions
To ensure that our return in April is as safe as possible, we ask again that parents provide consent for participation in our Pooled Surveillance Testing program. You can learn more about the consent process and view instructions HERE.
