NEW EASTERN HEIGHTS COMINGS AND GOINGS

Parents are urged to allow extra time for dropping off and picking up students, and to use neighboring side streets for temporary parking. Car pooling is recommended if possible.

When dropping students off or picking them up on campus, cars and buses will follow a specific one-way path in and out of the facility to ensure safety and to keep traffic flowing.

Please use patience and allow for hiccups as families navigate the paths in and out of the campus for the first few times.

As always, please be aware of students who are walking and riding their bikes to school and use extreme caution when approaching crosswalks and parking and walking areas in and around the campus.

The maps below illustrate the in/out pattern for car riders, busses and walkers when school

Eastern Heights Middle School's Open House will be on Thursday September 16th from 6-8 PM

Open house will be divided into two time slots:

Students with the last name starting with A-L will attend from 6:00-6:45 PM

Students with the last name starting with M-Z will attend from 7:15-8:00 PM

We encourage all parents to attend Open House. Attending Open House will be your opportunity to accomplish all of the following:

  • Meet your child's teachers
  • Tour the new campus
  • Complete any missing information needed

COVID-19 Update

It's strongly recommended that masks continue to be worn, but the school district will not mandate it at this time. The exception to this is for bus riders; masks are required on public transportation per the CDC.

Immunizations

Hello Families,

The 7th graders will need the TDAP and Meningococcal shots. You can get them from your family doctor or the Lorain County Health Department at 9880 S. Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria. Call 440-284-3206 for an appointment.

There is a 2 week grace period after school starts but after that the student will not be able to attend without proof of vaccinations per state mandate after that.

When you get the vaccinations, please send a copy to the office or email to the nurse at frankvalerie@elyriaschools.org

If your student has a serious medical condition that I need to know about and share with the staff, please call me at 284-6689.

Thank you for your hard work getting ready for the start of the new school year.

Valerie Frank RN. BSN.

Please send your updated shot records to the office by September 28th.

Call Lorain County General Health District for more information 440-322-6367.

Eastern Heights and at Elyria High. Non school issued locks are not permitted.
