Digital Learning Day Information - Friday, September 16, 2022
Our first Digital Learning Day is approaching for ALL students on Friday, September 16th. We are grateful for the opportunity to have this day to allow teachers to plan future lessons for students.
On Digital Learning Days, students can find all their lessons and assignments on eCLASS. There is no live instruction, but teachers will be checking email periodically throughout the day for any questions you may send.
Meals will be delivered along all bus routes between 10:45 am and 12:00 pm on September 16th. Students aged 18 and below can go to the bus stop to receive a meal.
Student Devices for Digital Learning Day
Each student has a Chromebook assigned to them for work during the school day. To help your child be able to access everything they need for completing school work from home, Brookwood Elementary will send home your child's assigned Chromebook on Thursday, September 15th. Your child must bring their Chromebook back to school on Monday, September 19th. If you would not like your child to bring home your Chromebook for the Digital Learning Day, please contact your child's teacher via email by Wednesday, September 14th. Information about using your child's Chromebook at home can be found at the Parents' 1:1 website.Attention 4th Grade Parents
REQUIRED FOR ALL 4TH GRADE STUDENTS!
All students in 4th grade are required to have a recorder for music class. In 4th grade, students begin learning to play the recorder(soprano recorder/baroque fingering). Learning to play the recorder is very important because it combines all skills and concepts (Gwinnett County AKS) learned in music classes over the past several years.
There are several options to get a recorder: You may purchase a recorder through Brookwood for an $8.00 fee, which includes 3-piece recorder and case. Payments are made through MyPaymentsPlus. Another option would be to buy the recorder at Music and Arts Store or Amazon. Links to our local music stores can be found on Mr. Reyes' eCLASS page.
Clinic Donations Needed
The Brookwood Elementary clinic is in need of donations of pants, shorts, and leggings. Students use these in the event of accidents, milk spills, muddy clothes, or bloody noses. Unreturned clothes have depleted our clinic supply of extra changes.
All sizes of boys' and girls' athletic-type pants, short, or leggings are needed. Donations can be sent in with students or dropped off at the Brookwood Elementary front office.

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications are available online.
Complete a meal application by Wednesday, September 14, to continue meal benefits and ensure added support for your school!
Throughout the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has allowed school systems across the country to provide breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge to families. However, the USDA waivers expired during the summer, and students are required to pay for meals based on their individual eligibility.
In order to receive free or reduced-price meal benefits, families must complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application and meet eligibility requirements. Click here to learn more and find a link to the application: https://www.gcpsk12.org/Page/29759.
