Congratulations Holden Andrews!
Wrestling - Coach Andrews
Last week the wrestlers traveled to Salina to compete in the Kansas State Wrestling Championships. The Cards were sitting pretty good going into the tournament. Starting off the Cards was 120-pound sophomore Dayton Fraser. Fraser would lose his championship first-round match and pick up a first-round consolation bracket win advancing him to the second day of wrestling. He would fall short by a 3-2 loss against the 6th place finisher. Fraser would end his season with a 22-18 record.
Senior Larry Gulley would make his first appearance to the State Wrestling Tournament. Gulley would end his season against the 4th place finisher in a 4-1 decision. Larry would end his season with a record of 22-12. Junior Cael Lynch would enter Friday wrestling very well and landing himself in the frontside quarters against #1 ranked Scott County. Lynch would go on to lose by a 7-6 decision. Lynch would end his season on Saturday and finish with a 28-10 record.
Junior Dakota Whitaker would finish his season on Friday with a record of 20-19. Junior Nate Criqui would finish his season on Friday with a record of 18-20. Senior Christopher Huslig would finish his season on Friday with a record of 13-16.
In the last two weeks of his season, Junior Holden Andrews would wrestle the #2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 ranked wrestlers in the Class 4A. Andrews would enter the State Tournament as an unranked wrestler. Advancing to the quarter-finals on Friday Andrews would lose a close 2-3 decision to the 3rd place finisher. Andrews would enter Saturday’s consolation matches with a mission. He would knock off Marysville’s #5 state ranked Bockin with a fall landing himself into the medal rounds. Andrews would lose another close decision 1-3 to the 4th place finisher. Andrews would make short work of #6 ranked Lapping from Frontenac. Andrews would be the only state placer for the Cards this season finishing in 5th and with a record of 29-8.
A huge thanks to all of the fans that came out to watch and support these guys Friday and Saturday. It meant a lot to the wrestlers and coaches. Congrats to all wrestlers on an amazing season! Next year will be even better! Can’t wait...

Noah had 5 rebounds while Justin Fawcett had 3 assists.
We would like to thank our seniors for their leadership throughout the year: Brant Arnold, Jerratt Bradley, Brett Breedlove, Sloan Hayden, Jacob Merkle, Adam Monroe, Connor Schmidt, Tucker Shackelford, Noah Watkins, Ross Engle, Emily Spurling, and Maci Votaw.
9th Grade Boys Basketball - Coach Zimmerman
Last week the freshman boys wrapped up their season and their quest to finish in the record books without a loss. On Tuesday, the freshman boys hosted the Baldwin Bulldogs. Eudora got out of the gates early to take a commanding 14-0 lead. Cardinals used their dominating defense and their uptempo pace to score easy transition baskets. Cole Parker contributed making 3 three-point baskets and scoring 11 points in the first quarter. Eudora led 25-11 after the first quarter. Cardinals continued their high scoring in the second quarter to take a 44-24 lead at halftime. Eudora went on to beat Baldwin 70-52. Eudora was led in scoring by Parker who scored a season-high 19 points making 5 three-pointers. The team had a balanced scoring attack with every player scoring at least three points. Parker Hurla led the team with 9 rebounds. The all-around stat line belonged to Conor Dunback who had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.
On Friday, the team went on the road to take on their rival Piper. The game lived up to a classic battle. The game was close all throughout as Piper played a tough and physical style of play. At the end of the first quarter, Eudora led 15-12. However, Piper battled back within one point at the half with Eudora leading 29-28. In the third quarter, Eudora showed tremendous heart out scoring Piper 13 to 8. Cole Parker again used his hot shooting to spark the team sinking 3 three-pointers in the quarter. Eudora dominated the fourth quarter with its defense holding Piper to only score one point. Eudora beat Piper 47-35 clinching the league championship and making history with a perfect 18-0 season. Parker scored a team high 18 points making 6 three-pointers. Conor Dunback led the team with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

All Night Prom Fundraiser - Win a side of beef!
The EHS Parents All-Night Prom Committee has been busy at work getting ready for this year’s All Night Prom. This year’s All Night Prom will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020. This is the 30th year for the All-Night Prom in Eudora! It is solely run and organized by parent volunteers. After the formal prom, we have a lock-in for all EHS Juniors and Seniors and their dates at Eudora Middle School. We feed them, have inflatables and games, and draw for door prizes all night long. We don’t allow anyone to leave unless we talk to a parent to get permission. Everyone is then dismissed at 6 am with a bag of loot. We’ve managed to keep the students of EHS safe and prevented them from making poor choices by holding this safe parent-sponsored event for 29 consecutive years. Our parent committee fundraises by soliciting cash and in-kind donations from businesses and individuals. We are currently in the process of fundraising for All Night Prom. Each year the All Night Prom Committee raffles off a chance to win a side of beef. Thanks to Neis Brother Farms for donating this year! It is a HUGE donation that we are very grateful for, as it has the potential to raise a lot of money for us. All proceeds raised will help pay for this year’s EHS All Night Prom.
All juniors and seniors were given 10 beef raffle tickets to sell. Tickets prices are 1 ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $20. The person purchasing the ticket(s) keeps the info part of the ticket. The stub with name/email/phone should be turned in to the EHS Office (Career Center), along with the payment collected, to Theresa Abel. Mrs. Abel is kind enough to be tracking everyone’s sales for us so that we can award prizes to those who sell the most raffle tickets.
Checks can be made out to the EHS Parents Prom Committee or, of course, people can pay cash. If your student sells all 10 of their tickets and needs more, please have them visit Mrs. Abel, and she can give them additional tickets to sell.
All ticket sales are due to Mrs. Abel in the Career Center by the end of the school day on Friday, April 10, 2020. The drawing for the side of beef will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020.
