Citizens of the Month
We'll be celebrating our January 2019 Citizens of the Month on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 3:15. Teachers, please write your student's name and reason on the Google Doc which is linked below. I'd like to send out the COTM invitations this Wednesday, February 13, 2019, so it would be great to at least have their name by then. Thank you!

Gatewood Makerspace Showcase
Thank you Dawn Lindblom and Amy Kodet who braved snowy conditions to showcase the Gatewood Makerspace activities, resources, and ideas to principals attending the Minnesota Elementary School Principals' Association Winter Institute last Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Their display was informative, attractive and appealing. We are fortunate to have such champions for innovation who were willing to take their time to plan, gather materials, transport, set up, and share with others. Thank you very much Dawn and Amy!
Professional Development on February 20 and 21, 2019
We'll be doing some literacy learning in an EdCamp style format on Wednesday, February 20 and Marius Massie will be with us again on Thursday, February 21 during the late start pd time. I have checked in with Marius about where we are at, our needs, and how his presentation style should uplift and inspire us, rather than make us feel more stressed. I'm hopeful that he'll be able to help us continue the positive work you have been doing with restorative practices.
Black History Month Press
Thank you to Chantele Burgess, Heidi Christen and other staff members for the activities planned and executed for celebrating Black History Month. Gatewood received great press in the recent Royal Report. Check out the link below. Thank you all for contributing to the events and activities during February as part of Black History Month.
