Hansen Weekly Update
November 4, 2022
Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!
Welcome to November! We hope the beginning of the new month is treating everyone well and that you enjoy the warm (possibly record breaking) temperatures this weekend! We have had a busy and exciting week at the school, capped with author Jerry Pallotta visiting the Hansen today and meeting with each grade level. Mr. Pallotta is the author of the 'Who Would Win' series, and our students had a blast connecting with him. Thank you to our CAPT for providing this opportunity for our students!
As a friendly reminder, there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 8 due to a full day of professional development for staff and on Friday, November 11 as we celebrate Veterans Day. Thank you to all members of our Hansen community who currently serve or previously served in our armed forces. Your bravery and sacrifice are greatly respected and appreciated!
Please enjoy some of this week's highlights below...

Parent/Teacher Conferences - Reminder
Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching, and we are looking forward to connecting with families! Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, November 18 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Teachers will be coordinating meeting times with families, and there are options to participate virtually or in-person. Please note, whatever you initially indicate as your preference will be scheduled and families will not be able to change (for example, if you indicate your wish for a virtual conference, you will not be able to switch to in-person). While we do our best to accommodate the needs of families, this creates disruption to our schedules. We appreciate your understanding, and again, we are looking forward to connecting with our families during the two conference dates!
Title I Information Night
Please RSVP via the email that you received from Ms. Coyle, our Title 1 Coordinator.
Math Webinars
On Wednesday, November 2, we held two math webinars for elementary parents and guardians in Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5. The webinar shared information about our curriculum review process and why Reveal Math was chosen, shared some components of the program and helped parents understand how they can access the online resources from home. The recordings of the webinar are available for parents.
Note: The video included in the slide deck did not work properly in this session. You can access the video here.
MIAA Tournament Time for Canton High School Athletics!
Dear Bulldog Community,
It has been a great fall season for our teams here at CHS. Four of our teams have qualified for the state tournament and have earned a home game in the first round. We are hoping to get a great home crowd at each of these games. Please consider heading the CHS to support our student athletes.
