New Name, Same Class
Early Release is at 3:05 this Thursday 11/ 20.
Anytime is the temperature and/or windchill is 25 below we will have indoor recess. Please make sure that your child is prepared with winter coats, gloves, and a hat.
Reminder- next week we will only have school on Monday and Tuesday. I will be absent both days for my Honeymoon.

Reading
Today we looked at how Myths have inspired different saying that we use today---"He's got the Midas Touch." After learning about Myths, students used their knowledge of mythology to determine the meaning of these common saying. Here are some of our short skits. (Videos are on a private Youtube account, they cannot be viewed outside of our newsletter)
Later in the week will begin immersing ourselves in Fables to determine the theme of the story.
Don't forget to be reading 20 minutes every night with your child. November reading logs will be sent home tomorrow!
Math
We just finished Unit 3-- Multiplication and Division. Please continue to go over these facts with your student at home. It is important to have these memorized by the end of fourth grade.
This week we will begin Unit 4 --Reviewing symmetry and move into geometry and measuring angles!
Math Folder: Folders will be coming home today. There is one worksheet students can work on throughout the week along with practicing their flashcards or Multiplication Game. Working on study Island will also count for math folder minutes.
Homework: Given Wednesday, due Friday!
Writing
Students are continuing to draft their informational brochures. We will focus on finding the main idea, subtopics and supporting details. As we are drafting we working on having exciting leads to draw our readers in and have them continue to read our information.
