Mission Statement
News from the Principal
Dear St. John Families,
We enjoyed having many of our families join us on Monday evening for our Parents as Partners event. If you or a family representative were unable to attend, please visit the school office during office hours to collect important paperwork from your child's teacher.
My presentation is accessible HERE, and the letter outlining changes to our standardized testing process from the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Diane Floyd, is available HERE.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all. Have a great day!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Natalie Johnson

School & Parish Picnic
We are combining efforts to host one School & Parish Picnic on September 17. There are several ministry groups within our parish that will be hosting events and organizing areas of the picnic. SJN School families are responsible for prepping, stocking and cleaning up food.
I have created a volunteer sign-up below where you can indicate where and how long you'd like to volunteer. You may sign up for multiple shifts if you would like. This is an excellent way to earn Care & Share hours and meet other families. Thank you for volunteering your time and talent to make this year's picnic a success!

Project MOVE
As we begin a new school year, we are beginning a new program. I am challenging our school to MOVE and be more active everyday. With this initiative, we are wanting to purchase a set of 50 pedometers to be used during the day. Students will be encouraged to check out a pedometer to track steps at recess or in PE class. Students will be able to record their steps to track their progress throughout the school year.
Your help is greatly needed to jumpstart this program. Donations or gift cards to Amazon will allow us to purchase these trackers that range in price from $6.99 to $9.99 each. We hope that this will be a fun way to encourage daily exercise and promote healthy living.
Thank you for your support in jump starting this program! If you have any questions regarding donating, please let me know.

SJN SCRIP Information
Here is how it works…
Gift cards are purchased by the school at a pre-determined discount. You buy those retailer gift cards at face value, then SJN splits the discount with you. You can then use the money towards lunches or tuition.
Here’s an example:
$200 Sprouts card will earn you $5
$200 Wal-mart will earn you $1.25
It may not seem like much, but it adds up! Review your budget and purchase Scrip cards from SJN to earn money at the places you normally spend money.
SCRIP can be purchased online here. The family code for St. John Nepomuk Catholic School is CBD17ALE937. You can also purchase SCRIP in the school office using the SCRIP Order Form. Please contact our SCRIP coordinator at sjscrip@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your support!

Dramallmas
Dear Parent or Guardian,
My name is Maggie Fuchs and for those of you who do not know me, I am the Drama Coach here at St John Nepomuk. That includes many varied opportunities for me to interact with your children. One of those opportunities is interaction with the students as they learn about drama. We sometimes put on skits at the morning assemblies. We sometimes present other skits and plays throughout the year. We read plays aloud for one another.
Why should your child/ren be interested in Dramallamas. The meeting days allow the student to practice making presentations. Have you ever been to a meeting and not been able to hear the speaker? Dramallamas practice making presentations. They practice meeting people. They will learn about team efforts and how to work with others. Hopefully, they learn skills that will be useful throughout their life.
The Dramallamas meet on Monday afternoons after school. The meeting lasts from 3:15 until 4:00. Sometimes we meet longer to participate in the Christmas program. This provides the entire process of presenting a play for the students to experience.
The students will broaden their horizons. They will interact with other students who are not in their classes. They will have fun. Lots of fun.
Please let your child come to Dramallamas beginning on Monday, August 28 at 3:15. We can make arrangements for a less than one semester experience for those who on athletic teams. We learn to be flexible with our scheduling with the student body. I hope to see your child on Monday August 28. If that is not possible, I will be happy to talk to your child about their scheduling problems.
Please pray for us all,
Maggie Fuchs
