Welcome back Alta Mesa families! It seems like it's been so long since we've had school. I look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday. Reminder to families that Monday is an in-service day for staff and students return to school on Tuesday, January 10th.

We start this week amidst an atmospheric river in Northern California which has brought much-needed rain to our area, but that can also make things challenging at school. We will monitor the weather at the school, but I encourage parents to help their children dress appropriately for wet weather.

This week we will be having our 4/5 girls and boys basketball tryouts. Permission slips will be available up to tryouts. Tryouts will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Permission slips are available in the office or from homeroom teachers.

• Weekly meetings will be held on Friday afternoons from 2:30-2:50 (first weekly meeting starts 12/09)
  
• Proposed trip dates to Mt. Shasta are 1/17, 2/16, and 3/16
• Parents are required to drive their student to the mountain
• Cost per trip will be provided at initial meeting

There will not be any meetings in the months of February or March. A new schedule will be sent out at the last meeting, which is 1/26/2023, for April-May.
