Social Studies
We are learning so much in Social Studies. Currently, both homerooms are learning about the Native Americans and their cultures. Mrs. Sontag's homeroom conducted a Skype session with the Virginia Historical Society today where they learned about the Powhatan tribes, Pocahontas, and their role in the first colonies settled in America. The class was able to ask questions, view primary sources, and see artifacts used by the tribes. Miss. Kenny's homeroom was divided into different tribes. They conducted research on themselves and then did a class presentation about what they learned. It was a fun and interactive way to see how the different tribes, lived, communicated, hunted, and gathered within their communities.
4th Grade Play
The 4th Grade play tryouts will be held after the Christmas break during the school day. Every student will be get a speaking part the teachers will determine which part is best for each student. Once we have tryouts we will send home more information about costumes and lines. It is each students responsibility to memorize their lines. Mrs. Sontag will be asking for help with various components on the play as we get closer. Please email her if you are willing to help out. This is a fun and important tradition in the 4th grade!
Have a fabulous week!
