Falcon Forum
Principal Point
I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! It has been a fast and furious start to the school year, and I can't express enough how much we enjoy seeing our students everyday. I know it's not without challenges for your child and your family, and we appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this ever changing pandemic. Our students are doing a great job exhibiting our values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Compassion and Teamwork. I have seen this each morning as they arrive to school, in our classrooms and hallways, and with their particpation in Fall sports. Our Falcon's Nest advisory class is also going well, providing our students with a homeroom each morning, allowing them time to settle into their day, get organized, learn some effective study habits, and working to enhance our school community. I hope our students are finding their Falcon's Nest time valuable, I welcome your feedback in this area.
I also recognize that transportation has been a real frustration for our bus riders, and apologize for the disruption this has caused in your home and here at school. Durham is working hard to hire more drivers and fix some of their route issues. Hopefully this will be resolved very soon.
We remain positive and optomisitic here at Fairmont, in spite of all the challenges that are presented each day. Your support and feedback is appreciated as we strive to serve our students and families in everyway we can.
Go Falcons!
-Mr. Ryan

Student Chromebook and WIFI Information
Also, below is a link to apply for free WIFI if that is something you need support with in your home.
Important Reminders
-Students should not arrive to school before 7:20am, and should be off campus by 2:50pm unless participating in extra curricular activities.
-Morley Nelson has asked me to communicate a request that our families do not use their parking lot for a pick up or drop off location. Their start and end times are diffrent than ours, it disrupts their campus and their space is also limited.
-Fairmont Park continues to be a concern regarding students hanging out there after school. This is a good pick up spot for after school, and of course students are welcome to be in a public park. However, I am recieving complaints about behavior in general from our community. From fighting to foul language, vaping and smoking, and even suspected drug use. Mr. Roberts, Officer Mika and myself have been stepping up our presence in the park after school but I want you to be aware of this ongoing concern.
Thank you for your help and support in these areas, it is very much appreciated!
