This is your Captain Speaking!
This week our PTA will host our Fall Festival! Your students will be very excited to see you you as they jump in the moon bounce, play games, eat hot dogs and enjoy a great time with their families. We are looking for volunteers to help man the activities and support our students. This is a great way for you to build stronger relationships with your students and parents at a fun-filled event where we can show pride in our school and Birdneck Family. I hope you are able to join us!
This week is Safe Schools Week! Please join me in thanking Mrs. Hinson and Officer Swartz for all they do for our school and students. Officer Swartz, our school resource officer is always available when we need support. He serves Birdneck, Seatack and VB Middle school. Mrs. Hinson welcomes families with a smile every day and ensures that we are safe and secure in our building. Thank you Mrs. Hinson and Officer Swartz for being such an amazing people and keeping us safe at Birdneck!

You Make a Difference
No matter how she is feeling, she puts that aside and gives her all to her students. She is a natural teacher and her students feel loved and known. She makes a difference.
Workshop Wednesdays
Securly
Select school staff members will once again be granted access to student web browsing histories from within the Securly management portal. This access has proven beneficial as a classroom management tool and will go into effect over the coming weeks. The staff members listed below will receive a confirmation email from Securly announcing access to the portal once the rostering and configuration process for this school year is complete. As a result, these individuals will have the same student web browsing information for all students at their respective sites as parents who register for the Securly Parent Portal. Staff members will receive this email even if they had access previously.
• Principals and assistant principals
• Teachers
• Instructional technology specialists
• Guidance chairs and counselors
