THE GREAT COMMISSION IN ACTION
This week our volleyball girls listened to that call!
On Thursday, September 1st, the team traveled to play matches with Vinemont and J.B. Pennington. Between matches one of our players shared with the coaches that she had felt like she missed an opportunity at the last game day to pray with the other team and was feeling like she should ask the team in the upcoming match. She shared this with her teammates as well and it sparked the desire in them all. As a bold move, the team approached their opponent and asked them to pray together before the game. Without doubt this action took courage and faith. Amidst a loud and busy gym, our Lady Lions joined together with the Vinemont Eagles to tune out the noise and have a conversation with God. When the crowd noticed their action a hush came over the gym. People stopped what they were doing and listened. Our Lions were doing much more than praying. They were witnessing to everyone in that gym.
We are so proud of our Lions and are praying for more opportunities for all of our students to be a light in our community!
Thank you girls for listening to God's call and for having the boldness to take action!
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. - ACTS 1:8

LATIN TABLE BLESSING
Latin helps to increase student's vocabulary by being able to dissect words using their Latin root and determining the meaning of words they would typically not know.
An example of their daily Latin use is in this table blessing. Students enjoy saying this together before lunch.
Benedic, Domine, nos et haec Tua dona quae de Tua largitate sumus sumpturi per Christum Dominum Nostrum Amen.
Translated: Bless Oh Lord us and these your gifts which from your bounty we are about to receive through Christ Lord our Amen.
