Message from the Library Media Center
This month we are working with the Des Plaines Public Library to give all families the opportunity to apply and receive a library card. More information will be coming home soon.
We have added some new books to the library this month. Thank you to our students for recommending new books for us to purchase. Our goal is to add a diverse collection of books that reflect our school's interests and population.
A quick reminder for families, please have your child charge their iPad every night so that it is ready for the day. Also, please check in with your child to ensure that they have a working set of headphones in their classroom.
Thank you to a parent who recently shared a simple way for their child to remember their iPad everyday. The child wrote on a post-it note, “Do I have my iPad?”. They then taped the note to the door they exit every morning. The parent reported that their child has not forgotten their iPad since. Thank you for all you do to make your child’s day start off right.

Cumberland PBIS Monthly Focus - November
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior. This month students are learning about: including others. During social emotional learning time, they will work through class discussions, listen to read alouds from staff, and engage in other activities with their class centered around the monthly focus.
One way you can support this monthly focus at home is to have conversations with your child(ren) about our monthly themes.
Thank you for your continued partnership in education.
Congrats to our Courageous Cougars from October
