News for GLVN Volunteers (Thông Tin cho Thầy Cô GLVN)
It's Time!!!
In just a few days, we start our new GLVN year. As I think about this program and all the wonderful things God has done through it, I first have to thank God for all the blessings, and then thank all of you for your dedication to it. Among those blessings, I also count the challenges we've all had as well because through those struggles God teaches us to serve with humility and with total trust in Him.
And there have definitely been many challenges as I transitioned into this new role. Thanks for your patience and support these past few months. And especially thank you for bearing with me and all the long emails and newsletters. Lack of communication was the biggest complaint I heard from people as I talked with many of you on what needs to be improved. So I am committed to being as transparent with you as possible on what's happening and what's coming up.
I also look forward to ongoing input from you as well as we begin the school year. So please don't hesitate to reach out to me at any time. I (and all of Ban Điều Hành) are here to serve and support you as best we can.
It's going to be a great year! Let's have some fun this Sunday!
In Christ,
Chi

Morning Prayer Together
So, at exactly 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning, all catechists are invited to join us in prayer in the Teacher's Lounge. It will be brief (2-3 minutes) so that you can get to your classrooms before 10. Whether there are 30 of us or just 2 of us -- this brief prayer time will take place every Sunday, so please join us!!
All-School Prayer for 2016-2017
One of the suggestions that was submitted during our July teacher workshop was to choose an all-school prayer that we would all learn together. What a great idea and a great way to unite us all in prayer as a GLVN program!
Last week, we gave all of you a chance to vote on the prayer we would use this year, and the winner is ....
St. Thomas Aquinas Daily Prayer
Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you, conduct pleasing to you, faithful perseverance in waiting for you, and a hope of finally embracing you. Amen.
Posters are being printed for each room with this prayer. Hopefully we will have them in time to hang before school starts.
Thanks again for the suggestion! Please keep the ideas coming!

Family Packet Information
Here's a look at the family packet that was mailed to parents last week to give them information they need for the beginning of the school year.

Forms that parents will return to you or the office (Please collect these when you get them and bring them to the GLVN office or leave it in the "mailbox" outside your class door.)

ACTION ITEM!
It's been fun to see the profiles come in! But we've only received a handful of these. Please send Thảo (ttlam089@gmail.com) your profile as soon as possible! Thank you!!!
This year, we really want our kids and families to get to know who we are as a GLVN team, so that they can understand us and our perspectives and experiences to support us and pray for us in our efforts to catechize their kids. Faith formation is strengthened when relationships are strong, and this is one way to help our students grow in their faith by sharing our own journeys, interests, experiences and hopes!
We plan to create a "Meet Our Volunteers" bulletin board near the GLVN office. Please see the info request below and share with us a little bit about yourselves!
