L.H. RATHER PRINCIPAL, TRACI DANIEL

Mrs. Daniel served as the Assistant Principal at LHR last year and was the Assistant Principal at I.W. Evans the prior year. She came to BISD from Van Alstyne ISD where she served as a teacher for 14 years and an Administrator Intern for two years.


Daniel and her husband, Kenneth, have four adult children. Justin is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Emily is a Junior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University pursuing a degree in Special Education. Jonathan is a Sophomore Computer Science major at The University of Texas at Dallas. John-Michael is a Freshman at Blinn College in Bryan studying Marketing.


ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, JASON BUSBEY


Mr. Busbey comes to BISD with four years of experience as an Assistant Principal in Van Alstyne ISD. During that time, he also served as a Student Services Facilitator, RTI Coordinator and Campus Test Coordinator. He also has 13 years of experience as a classroom teacher in Durant ISD and Van Alstyne ISD. Twelve of those years were spent as a middle school Science teacher.


Mr. Busbey received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from LeTourneau University. He and his wife, Amy, have two daughters: Sidney, a junior in high school, and Abbey will be in 7th grade.

Summer Reading Recognition

Congratulations to five LH Rather students who were recognized today for their dedication to summer reading. These outstanding students successfully completed the 2016 Bonham Public Library Summer Reading Program. They each received a certificate and a coupon for a treat at lunch. Way to go summer readers: Brant S., Aaron E., Worth L., Cameron P. and Kianna H (not pictured)

New Instruments for Band Students

LHR students recently received much-needed new band instruments. We sincerely appreciate Bonham ISD's dedication to ensuring that our students have the equipment they need to learn and grow as musicians. Thank you for turning their frowns upside down and supporting our junior high band program.

LHR Cheerleaders Attend Camp

The LH Rather Junior High Cheerleaders attended cheer camp provided by Cheerleaders from Texas A&M Commerce the week of August 3. They learned new cheers, chants and dances.

Cheerleaders were also taught how to stunt and the importance of spotting and safety for all involved in the stunt. We look forward to watching them grow and learn this year.

Celebration Lunch

The staff at LHR enjoyed a delicious steak luncheon provided by BISD Administrators during inservice week. It was a great meal and a great time enjoying fellowship with campus colleagues and district leaders.
