7th Grade GSS Weekly Update
Week of 2/24-2/28
Classroom Happenings
Three Branches of Government: This week we finished our study of the three branches of government. We will have a review on Monday and take a quiz over the material on Tuesday. The quiz will be over the three branches of government and the constitutional principles of Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances.
Civil Rights Movement: We will continue to look at ways that people bring about social change by doing a brief study on Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, two men who approached their goal in very different ways.
Economics/Personal Finance:During this unit we will learn some basic economic principles and understand more about the everyday financial decisions people make “in the real world.”
Contact: As always, let me know if you have questions about class or concerns I should be aware of. The easiest way to reach me is by email.
Upcoming Due Dates
There are no class due dates at this time. Students who had extensions for their Preserving History project should keep those deadlines in mind.
Exciting News
We’re cheering on the students who are attending the Regional National History Day competition this weekend. They should feel proud of their hard work!
