Message from the Principal
Welcome back, Bobcat family! We are off to a great start to the 2019-20 school year here at South Junior High. In the classrooms students are learning the Bobcat Belief expectations and doing an excellent job of showing those traits in the building. It has been fun to hand out the Bobcat Belief cards and reward students and staff for their awesome choices.
We will be heavily focusing on literacy at South this year. We will be using content area reading strategies, focused notes and daily reading periods to work on reading, writing and general literacy. Please ask your child what they are reading today and encourage them to read at home!
Our clubs and sports are getting going. We encourage every student to become involved and engaged in SJH by joining an interest based club and attending schoolwide events. Thank you for encouraging them to get started.
I have enjoyed being at South Junior High and I am looking forward to meeting you. Please never hesitate to reach out if you have a need. We are here to help you!

Changes in our Free and Reduced Lunch Price Meals
For the past number of years, our school has been eligible for a federal program that allows us to provide meals free-of-charge to all students. Due to overall improving economic conditions among many of our families, in the 2019-20 school year our school will no longer qualify for this free school-wide meal program.
Of course, free or reduced meals will still be available on a student-by-student basis. However, families must apply individually to determine if your student(s) will qualify under Federal guidelines.
Online applications for the individual student free or reduced meals for the 2019 - 2020 school year are available now.
