Every student in our building will be participating in opportunities for kids and teachers to come together and explore a theme in new and exciting ways. Thank you to everyone who has already donated supplies or materials to help! On Friday, December 18th, each grade will have the opportunity to showcase their final products for all of Schumacher to see! Here are the topics each grade level is exploring.
Kindergarten – Sharks are Givers: Students will be learning how they can give back to their communities, including visiting a local nursing home.
First Grade – Sharks are Community Builders: Students will examine which buildings are vital to a community and will then construct their own gingerbread communities to share with a classroom from around the country.
Second Grade – Sharks are iPad Problem Solvers: Students will create something that will help them solve problems that they face with their i-Pads.
Third Grade – Sharks are Designers: Students will design gliders, habitats, games, or new fashions!
Fourth Grade – Sharks Know MO: Students will research different destinations in Missouri and plan their own vacations.
Fifth Grade – Sharks are Inventors: Students will research the process used to create trademarks and patents before creating their own inventions.
WINTER PARTIES REMINDER
PTA BOARD ELECTIONS
It is becoming close to time to elect a new set of board members. We have term limits and most of us have completed our full term. So with that being said, we will need about 4 volunteers to take on the role of board member. If you have a passion for helping kids and supporting Schumacher, please consider being an officer or a committee chair. We need lots of people to help make our school a great place. We also need new ideas and new ways to keep moving into the future. Please contact me at email@example.com if you are interested in being more active with PTA. There's a spot for you!
SKATING PARTY WINNER
Congratulations Ms. Walls and class for winning the Golden Skate Award with the most students in attendance! Ms. Crossett came in 2nd place, and Mrs. Taylor in 3rd! Thank you SO much to ALL who attended and made it such a success!
A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Farris, Ms. Walls, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Beaty for making celebrity appearances! There is no doubt their attendance not only helped with having the highest attendance thus far this year, but also in setting the new attendance record for December with 142 skaters bringing in $318.00! Woohoo!
TECHNOLOGY STUDENT ASSOCIATION DAY CAMP
The Liberty High School Technology Student Association is hosting a TSA Day out for all students currently in Kindergarten through 6th grade. This one day event on December 30th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at Liberty High school will provide a full day of fun activities for students, while parents get a break to take care of any end of winter break needs or just get the kids out for some great activities. For $25 students will participate in 7 hours of games, experiments, an engineering movie, and lots of fun. A snack will be provided during the movie, but a lunch will need to be brought from home. All proceeds will go toward helping the 50 TSA students travel to state and national competitions in various Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. Sign up quickly as our spring camp filled every spot! To register your student please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and for a copy of the registration form.
