Events This Week

This is Homecoming Week for JH.

Monday, October 17

  • JH Homecoming Dress-up day: Decades Day
  • Today is Boss Appreciation Day.
  • 6th and 8th grade JH UIL Spelling will practice today during flex with Mrs. McKenzie.
  • JH OAP will rehearse today from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the auditorium with Ms. Floyd.
  • The band will rehearse tonight from 7-9 p.m.


Tuesday, October 18

  • JH Homecoming Dress-up day: Battle of the Bands
  • Seniors will be traveling to Career Day in Lubbock today. They will leave before school and should return by 2 p.m.
  • The high school Cross Country team will compete in their district meet today at 10:30 at Yoakum County Park. The junior high team will run after school.
  • 7th UIL Editorial and Reading Writing teams will practice today during flex with Mrs. McKenzie.
  • JH UIL Impromptu will practice after school with Mrs. McKenzie.
  • JH OAP will rehearse today from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the auditorium with Ms. Floyd.


Wednesday, October 19

  • Today is Miracle Jeans Day. Seagraves teachers and staff are invited to pay $5 and wear jeans. The money will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network. Please click the link below for more information about Miracle Jeans Day.
  • High school students will be attending an ACT boot camp in Brownfield. They will leave at 8:15 and should return by sixth period.
  • JH Homecoming Dress-up day: Saved by the Bell (Nerd Day)
  • JH UIL Calculator will practice after school with Mrs. Goen.
  • 7th UIL Spelling and 6th Editorial and Ready Writing will practice during flex with Mrs. McKenzie.
  • JH UIL Impromptu will practice after school with Mrs. McKenzie.


Thursday, October 20

  • JH Homecoming Dress-up day: Pretty in Pink
  • The elementary Read Every Day program ends today.
  • Voting for the KCBD Cheer Championship ends today at 3 p.m.
  • UIL Math will practice after school with Mrs. Goen.
  • 8th grade Editorial and Ready Writing will practice today during flex with Mrs. McKenzie.
  • The junior high pep rally will begin at 3:15 in the junior high gym.
  • The JH and JV Eagles will play Roscoe in Seagraves beginning at 4:30 p.m.


Friday, October 21

  • JH Homecoming Dress-up day: Color Wars
  • The send-off will be at 1:40 today.
  • The varsity Eagles will play in Roscoe beginning at 7 p.m. Go Eagles! Beat the Plowboys!


Saturday, October 22

  • The band will compete in the UIL Region 16 Marching Contest at Lowery Field today. They take the field at 4:30.
  • The ACT test is today. The next ACT deadline is November 4 for the December 10 test. See Mrs. Garza for study materials.

Upcoming Events

  • Red Ribbon Week will be October 24-31. See below for information about dress up days for each campus.
  • The Eagle Leadership Blood Drive will be Tuesday, October 25, from 1:00-5:45, at the high school. Call Mr. Martinez at 806-387-2015 to set up an appointment.
  • Tuesday, October 25, will be Parent Night at the elementary. The Spanish session will be from 6-7 p.m. and the English session will be from 7:15-8:15.
  • The JH Eagles will play in Plains Thursday, October 27, beginning at 5 p.m.
  • The junior high band will play at the game Friday, October 28.
  • The varsity Eagles will play the Plains Cowboys Friday, October 28, beginning at 7 p.m.
  • Josten's will be here Tuesday, November 8, to take senior graduation orders. Payment will be due by Tuesday, November 15.
  • Yearbook picture retakes will be Thursday, November 17.

Ag Barn Fire

Thank you to the Seagraves and Loop Fire Departments, Seagraves Police Department, Gaines County Sheriff, and the many community members who responded to the AG barn fire Friday night. The barn received minor damage and no animals were injured in the fire.

When you get to the main website, click "parents and students" at the top then select "SISD Staff Directory" in the drop down menu. There, you will see teacher names. Click on a name to see email addresses and website links.
