PBIS APRIL NEWS!
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Welcome!
For starters, some of you might be wondering, "What is PBIS?" "Is it PATH?"
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and refers to a school-wide data driven system to promote positive behavior. This system's purpose is to encourage positive behavior and reteach expected behavior to struggling students. The way we implement this is THROUGH The PATH of the Storm.
Monthly Focus
We have spent so much time noticing students on the PATH, now it's your turn! Starting in April we will lift each other up by not only noticing our colleagues that are on the PATH, but by letting them know! All staff will be responsible for handing out PATH tickets to their peers. You are all important in the PBIS process and it's time you are recognized!
Challenge:
Find 3 staff members each week that demonstrate PATH behavior. This could be through their teaching, work habits, or through student contact, really anything that shows positive behavior. Write them a green PATH ticket that you received at the April 1st staff meeting and place it in the staff bucket, located by all the grade level buckets. Each Monday a staff ticket will be drawn for a FABULOUS prize! The tickets will then be posted in the lounge after the drawing. If you would like to keep a PATH ticket that you have earned, feel free to take it from the board!
