Jeremiah Gray Kindergarten Academy
In the Know...
Principal's Message
In this edition, you will find information about upcoming dates and opportunities for our staff. I will also try to include any new information that I have. Please take time to read it, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
The Power of Yet
There is so much power within the three little letters of the word, “yet.” Those three little letters, Y-E-T, make up a word of promise, a word that says “I might not have it now, but I will get there.”
Too often in our fast-paced life we want things to come quick and easy. The truth is, that more often than not, the things that are worth accomplishing require time and effort to get it right. That means when we try new things, we have to try and fail so that we can learn from those mistakes.
We need to encourage our children to embrace the power of “yet,” so they are not afraid to try things until they get it right. Teaching them that they just don’t have it yet, teaches them that it is within their power to learn, grow, and achieve.
As educators, I would also encourage you to join me in embracing this idea of "yet." As we begin this new journey at our Kindergarten Academy, we're all leaving behind our current comfort zone to create something new and exciting for our district.
I promise you it won't be easy.
I promise it won't be perfect.
I promise it won't all be figured out on day one.
BUT, with three little letters, I promise to change our perspective about our journey:
I promise you it won't be easy, yet.
I promise it won't be perfect, yet.
I promise it won't all be figured out, yet.
When we add the promise these three little letters bring, it guarantees that if we work hard, we will achieve these things and create something very special for our students.
