LMS Tiger Talk

#EveryTigerEveryDay
Principal’s Message
We're almost there. Just five school days to go! Our last day of school is Friday, May 27th. The end of the school year is an exciting (and busy!) time and always filled with mixed emotions. While we should all take pride in celebrating the hard work and successes of our students, we also know that we will miss our students over the summer and as they move on to their new adventures next school year. We know everyone is also looking forward to summer and some much-needed time off for our students and staff.
We welcome our traveling 8th-grade students back from Washington DC tonight. It sounds like everyone has had an awesome adventure in our nation's capital this week, experiencing and learning first-hand all about our great nation's history. We again thank our trip organizers and all our chaperones for making this journey happen for our students. Safe travels home to our Tigers tonight!
We are looking forward to our end-of-year class parties on May 27th. Our 7th-grade students will be having fun at school with a class picnic, yearbook signings, Kona Ice, and fun activities in their classes. 8th-grade students will head down to Grand Sands for a day of fun in the sand for this annual ritual. Big thanks to the MINT PTSA for their generosity and contributions to these events every year. So appreciative of this group of parents, always supporting our students and school!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. We'll see our Tigers on Monday for the last week of the 21-22 school year!
Go Tigers!

Second Step Social Emotional Learning
At LMS and across Loveland Schools, we want every child to be successful in school and that means supporting and encouraging their whole development. While excelling in academic classes is important, students also need skills to take on learning challenges, make good decisions, handle strong emotions, and get along with others.
This week, LMS students continue with social-emotional learning through the Second Step program, a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve students’ social-emotional skills, such as emotion management, impulse control, problem-solving, and empathy.
Through our Tiger Talk, with the purpose of providing this information with our families, we will be communicating “Family Connections” regularly to communicate the social-emotional learning topic and summary as well as a potential question to ask your child at home to continue the learning and connection.
