Professional Development Day
Serving the Kennedy Community One of our activities involved our teachers participating in a scavenger hunt! Our staff went to areas within our Kennedy boundaries and captured photos of designated areas. | Support Local Businesses Kennedy supports local businesses in our community, and we are thankful to all of our local businesses for supporting Kennedy Elementary over the years! | Newark Lake The purpose of the scavenger hunt activity was to refresh, recharge, and remember that this is the wonderful community that we serve! Arrival and Dismissal
Thank you families for dropping off and picking up your child on time. We will go back to our original times for both arrival and dismissal.
Arrival
All Students ~ 8:00 - 8:10 am (breakfast is served from 7:30 - 8:00 daily)
Kinder gate will remained closed and a staff member will open the gate at 8:00 am daily.
Dismissal
TK ~ 12:10 pm
K-6 ~ 2:32 pm (Friday is at 1:05 pm)
We want to ensure the safety of all our students. We are asking families to do their best to help with this important endeavor.
Please have your child enter and exit on the passenger side closest to the curb
Create a sign with your child’s name and teacher name and place it on the passenger side
Drop off and pick up your child at the loading zone in front of the school cafeteria
Avoid dropping off in front of the office unless a staff member assists you
Driver’s should stay in their vehicles at all times unless it’s an emergency

Walkers and Bike Riders
Please avoid standing in our loading zone areas before the classes line up. The loading zone area is where we have our Zones 1, 2, 3 signs posted. You may enter this area once you see your child's teacher line up
Exit campus once you have your child/children.
Use the crosswalks when crossing the parking lot and street
Be attentive and pay attention to your surroundings
If you need to talk with your child’s teacher after school, we ask that you email them and schedule an appointment.
Spread out and allow students to walk safely to their vehicles or to family members standing outside during dismissal.

ELAC
Please join us at our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) this year! We meet virtually on Zoom or Google Meet from 3:30 - 4:30 on the second Thursday of the month.
Below are a few ELAC functions and priorities:
Advising the principal and staff in the development of a site plan for English learners (Share SPSA EL goals- actions, etc:)
Assisting in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment
Identifying and recommending ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance
School Site Council
Please join us at our School Site Council (SSC) this year! We meet virtually on Zoom or Google Meet from 3:00 - 4:00 on the third Thursday of the month.
Purpose:
Develop and recommend the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) to the Board of Education
Review implementation of the SPSA plan
Establish a budget for the SPSA
