Join us for this exciting workshop within the Nature Center

Workshop will include:

  • Identifying habitats & key animals that inhabit the park
  • Examine stressors that effect the health of the habitat
  • Live animals in the nature center & possible short hike

Please meet at the Nature Center, where our program will begin promptly at 11am.


10:45-11:00am - Arrival/Mingling/Meet staff & families

11:00am - Workshop to begin promptly

12:30-1:00pm - Lunch together in pavilion - bring your own bag lunch

1:00pm-2:00pm - Group activities


Bring a brown bag lunch & drink for your family! Please remember to avoid bringing any nut (food) products for those that have severe allergies. We will eat lunch together in the pavilion.


1. In consideration of our students with serious allergies, please refrain from bringing nut (food) products or balloons.

2. As always, to limit the spread of possible flu, please do not attend a PA Virtual event if you have had a fever within 24 hours of the event.

3. For safety: All students need to be accompanied by a parent, learning coach or other designated adult. All students must wear shoes/sneakers for the entire school event and please refrain from bringing pets.

4. If there is a possibility of severe weather, please check Blackboard the day of the event in case of cancellation due to weather.

5. All PA Virtual events are tobacco free. Please do not smoke near or around any children or the outing facility.

Purpose: Social & Educational

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will identify animals that inhabit the park
  • Students will discover the stressors that affect animals living in the park
  • Participants will learn about and discuss ways to keep our park environments safe

Educational Hours to log into OLS:

Students may log 90 min in Science & 60 min in Language Arts
