In the real world, however, it’s a time consuming and expensive process. Contactors are often not available, and you need to wait around for long windows of time just to get charged for an estimate.

Once you click on the app, you’re able to see which coaches are immediately available and view their rates, reviews and expertise. You then contact the best one for you, tell them your issue, and, utilizing the mobile video feature of your phone, you get walked through how to fix it (or at least identify what parts to get). The typical contractor’s phrase, “Well, I need to come over and see it” is now eliminated because he or she is “seeing it” through the iPhone.
After the video consultation is over, your item is ideally fixed, and the contractor is automatically paid his per minute rate which you agreed to before hand. No waiting for a return call. No waiting for someone to come to the house. It’s all immediate and seamless. Instead of paying the $65 minimum service fee for the plumber to travel to your house just to diagnose the problem, you’ve only paid $14.00 (7 minutes * his $2/minute rate) for his time.
However, if for some reason, he cannot fix the issue over the phone, not to worry. Whatever you paid through your virtual Fixup session will be applied to the actual in person service call. If, for some reason, you decide not to use his services at all or he could not help you in any way via the phone, then you don’t pay anything for the call.

Q: Is there a cost to the service?
A: The app is free to download. If a client talks to a fixer, then the client pays the per minute rate he or she charges. No credit card is needed. It is billed through Apple.
Q: Is it only available for the iPhone?
A: At the current time, yes.
Q: How is this app different than Face Time or Skype?
A: In those applications, you cannot see a list of fixers who are immediately available. In addition, those apps do not allow the fixer to bill per minute.
Q: How do I know if the fixer is available at the time I need the fix?
A: The fixer will be displayed as available if he or she is able to accept calls.
Q: Do you screen the fixers ahead of time?
A: Yes, however the clients should read the fixer's profile in detail before connecting.
Q: What if the fixer that I currently use doesn’t have the app?
A: You can notify him or her to get the app in the Apple iPhone store.
Q: What if my fixer cannot help me through the phone call?
A: The fixer can easily refund your credits when the call is over – either 50% or 100%.
Q: What if, after the call, it’s determined that the fixer needs to come over to my location or I have to send the product in.
A: Then the fixer would simply deduct the amount of the call from the in person session.
