Differentiated Instruction:
An Essential Strategy in Standards-Based Teaching for K-12
Who Should Attend?
For grades K to 12 - all subjects Teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, special education teachers
About the Presentation:
In today’s diverse classrooms there are students of all skill-levels, interests, and abilities. Teachers everywhere are struggling to deal with the ever-expanding range of student needs. One of the most critical questions a teacher should ask of him/herself is, “How do I make sure that every student in my class is challenged at an appropriate level?”
Differentiated Instruction provides teachers with vision, structure, and support in order to answer that question. In interactive workshop, teachers will learn about the critical elements of Differentiated Instruction (DI) and how to implement them in their own classrooms. Trish will present concepts essential to DI, share examples of differentiated curriculum (K-12) and show a range of student work.
Participants will develop lessons and structures based on these concepts and examples.
The work we do together will be interactive; plan to leave with ideas for lessons and practices to use “next fall”!
