LEA Update
Notes from Monday's Building Rep Meeting [5/4/15]
LEA Needs You to Act on These Items
KNEA Representative Assembly Update
For the past three years legislation has been proposed in Topeka to eliminate member's ability to use payroll deduction to pay their dues. Each year the potential turmoil this could create for our local and state association is used as a distraction from the true harm some legislators are doing to public education. So Lori's new business item seeks to eliminate the ability of legislators to bludgeon members with the threat of weakening our association by switching member dues payments to EFT instead.
ACTION ITEM: If you are currently using payroll deduct and you would like to be proactive and switch to EFT, contact Lori Greenfield at Prairie Park Elementary or Laurie Folsom at Free State High School and we will send you the necessary form to switch to EFT.

News to Know from LPS
Blended Learning and Danielson Summer Training
Please note if your evaluations will be done using the Danielson Model next school year, there are training opportunities this summer. However, if you cannot attend a summer training, there will be opportunities once school starts in August. Attending a training session is required of all professionals being evaluated with via Danielson.
Weigh the pros and cons of attending during the summer or once school starts, but start planning ahead. Danielson training sessions for the summer are already listed on My Learning Plan.
NOTE: if your evaluations will be conducted using Danielson, you should have received a notification from Human Resources a couple of weeks ago.
Blended Learning Training
If you applied and have been selected to be a Blended Learning facilitator next school year, attending a BL training session is mandatory. There are training sessions available over the summer to meet your training requirement. Again, you do not have to attend a summer training session, but there is only one session after school starts on August 14.
Again weigh the pros and cons of attending a summer session or once the school year starts. Blending Learning training sessions for the summer AND August 14 are already listed on My Learning Plan.
