Note from the Principal:
Dear Staff,
Happy end to the first full-ish week! I continue to learn lessons from the people around here...
A school can be like a cruise ship, in that even when you hit the right buttons and controls, it takes a bit to actually turn and adjust course. It's easy to become nervous. The concerns that we had on day one, oftentimes melt away as we settle into routines and we adjust our approach. I can say for myself that I did not sleep very easily last weekend based upon everything that I was worried about related to the opening. But each day gets better and we get stronger. The improvement that I've seen with the day to day operations has been incredible. As we continue to get to 'cruising altitude' each day will get even better.
On a very serous note, I want to really thank everyone for setting such a strong tone. We have students exploring, teachers capitalizing on teachable moments, including monarch 'emersions' in the middle of the day and more. People are excited to learn, question and observe and that is a priceless occurrence that we always want at our school.
It's hard work, but WE ARE DOING IT! Thank you for all of the behind the scenes effort that makes it look so easy and smooth. As I walk around, I am seeing great routines and learning experiences being built.
Keep it going and let me know how I can help. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Chris
